Disney Animated Classics

When it comes to Disney, the term "Animated Classic" has been used in a variety of different ways. Some people will include all films released by The Walt Disney Company, occasionally including subsidiaries such as Pixar. Some people will only include cinematic releases, while others include straight-to-video releases.

The list below is roughly Disney's own classification of "Animated Classics" (which has, admittedly, changed over time) and is a list of films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Alternatively, see all reviews directly by clicking this link!

  1. Well I've only seen 29 of them - mostly during my childhood.

I remember being quite partial to The Rescuers when I was a child, although as an adult, Aladdin is just fantastic for content and humour.

To be honest, they all remind me of my childhood so watching them make me feel younger again :D

  2. 41, I am a loser. And most of those I absolutely adore. The Emperor's New Groove is priceless, as is Tangled and Meet the Robinsons

  3. Not seen Meet the Robinsons.
Tangled is mediocre in comparison to some of the films, though it does have it moments.
The Emperor's New Groove is certainly one of the best films on the list.

  4. I own 47 of these, bit confused as to why my FROZEN DVD says it is classic number 52 tho???? Is wreck it Ralph 51 or is Winnie the pooh (which I don't recall being redone recently)???? Only 5 more to get, yet!

    1. Interestingly I also own Frozen and I agree it says 52nd animated classic. That is wrong though, unless Disney are disowning the 2011 Winnie the Pooh, which is on all other lists I've found online. I shall investigate!

    2. Ahh, Winnie the Pooh is excised from the list in the UK only. Bizarre...
