Stu is content with a quiet 'pre-wedding brunch', but he is cornered into joining the wolf pack for one final drink around a beach camp fire with Teddy - his fiancée's high achieving perfect brother.
After Stu, Phil and Alan awake in a run-down Bangkok apartment, they must piece together the events of the night before to find out the whereabouts of Teddy using vague clues and suppressed memories.
First and foremost, if you didn't like The Hangover for its grotesque humour, overtly sexual remarks and ability to insult just about everyone, then Part II is not for you.
If you did enjoy The Hangover, then Part II is exactly for you... because it is identical to the original - bar a few scripting and scenic changes. Of course, this means that it retains the power to cause raucous laughing amongst the audience - but it's something that we've all seen before.
Alan's character is a huge part of the film undoubtedly creating the largest laughs with his naive and controversial comments. These were hilarious in the original but, while this continues in Part II, it does begin to seem more like the Zach Galifianakis Show rather than focusing on the plot in hand.
If anything, Part II feels like a tribute to the first film. By building on its success, it seems that director Todd Phillips has found his way to find a quick-fire way to sell both films at the same time, and if a packed cinema on a Thursday night is anything to go by then hasn't he done well. But boy has he sold himself out to do it.
That said, it is outrageously funny in places... but it's just not original.
